Nokia 4G test successful

Nokia announced the 4G test "long term evolution"(LTE) wireless technology was a success, it was one of its kind. This test was carried in urban environment using the spectrum of 2.65GH z, the peak download speed at this spectrum recorded 173Mbps; this was the best result then all earlier tests. LTE can provide the combination of bandwidth, range, scalability, and low power that users will expect from a 4G service.

The prototype base station was installed for ongoing LTE tests at the top of the Heinrich Hertz Institute building in Berlin, in urban where interference typically degrades bandwidth. Test featured multiple users connected to the new base station, giving the 173Mbps throughput was the real world peak. They also tested the LTE by putting terminals into cars and driving them 1 km away from the base station.

“We can demonstrate that LTE meets the high expectations set for this new technology,” said Nokia’s Matthias Reiss in a prepared statement. “Most importantly, we now have evidence that future LTE networks can run on existing base station sites and mobile operators can build LTE networks without requiring new antenna sites.”

Here is cool new clock in the shape of a cube; it starts as a box, but then splits into triangles. The biggest triangle shows hours, middle one shows minutes and the smallest one at top shows seconds.

Still using AA batteries in anything?
I use them in a wall clock and in my TV remote, well in not too many gadgets as most of them are rechargeable, but still if you want to have rechargeable AA batteries they are also available but a lot more expensive then the regular batteries plus you have to buy a charger as well.

Simple solution for your AA battery need is Moixa USB cell, which can be recharged by just plugging into any USB port. No need to buy extra charger, just pull its cap and plug it into any computer with USB port. In technical sense, Moixa batteries can get charge for about 7 hours with power of 250mA current in just 1 - 2 hours. There are LED's on it to show its charging level.

Just make sure that USB ports are not so close to each other, cause if it is, then you may no be able to plug all batteries together.

People who found themselves busy a lot, and there cell phone keeps on showing miscalls and voice-mails, then you better try this service by SpinVox. Wifi solution by Cradlepoint

If you are a crazy person and want to go wireless in your home even by a Phone, then this gadget is for you. This one is awesome gadget that can take the internet connection from your phone, and turn it into an 802.11b/g network, others can also connect through the same. If you dont want them to steal on your connection, then put the 64/128bit encryption that must be enough for most hackers out there.

The bad thing about is that right now its compatibility is limited to certain Sprint and Verizon products. As they both have very strong 3G networks, but they don't have enough coverage area. But still you need a Verizon or Sprint device to use this gadget, its cost around $179, but no body will regret to have this product.

Efergy meter

If you have a lot of gadgets around in your home it would be quite difficult to track all the amount of energy that is going wasted. Thanks to Efergy's energy meter, it will let you know about all the energy that is in use around every corner of the house. This little gadget that is also supposed to clean out the noise on power lines and make it cleaner, thereby lowering down bills. Well, if you are not as crazy as me, then the energy meter Efergy will help you monitor your exact energy use in real time. It can directly get to plug in into your mains cable, and also features a wireless, standalone display helps you become more energy efficient, less wasteful and save money at the same time.

By having a visual display showing exactly how much electricity is in in use at any one time means it’s easier to turn off what is not essential, such as used gadgets plugged in even if they are fully charged, as well as switch off unnecessary lighting.

Maxian E900 Blue Black PMP

Maxian has launched a new media player known as the E900 Blue Black that will be made available in Korea. The E900 Blue Black features improvements over the E900 series, featuring a color that follows its namesake along with a 60GB hard drive. The LCD displays up to 16 million colors (more than you’ll need) at a brightness of 350 candela, along with a 170-degree viewing angle. In addition, you get H.264 support. Too bad for people like me (living outside of Korea) will may probably never get hold of the E900 Blue Black.

Porsche P9521 Cellphone

UK will soon be having the Porsche P9521 cellphone sometime in the first half of this month - thats enough time to buy Christmas presents, so you have the chance to brag to others that you actually bought a Porsche for your kid/wife/hubby - just don’t let them know that it is a cellphone instead of a mean, street legal racing machine. The Porsche P9521 cellphone will be made available through Mobilephones24.co.uk

Porsche for most of us is a sleek and fast car that is capable of reaching 60 mph from a standing stop in under 5 seconds. Who would’ve thought that the automobile manufacturer would actually come up with a cellphone? Well, they have by collaborating with French partner Sagem, resulting the Porsche P9521. Made out of aluminum, it won’t be able to leave your competition eating dust and smelling burnt rubber, but at the very least they’ll drool after the handset as you make heads turn every time you pull out the handset from your pocket. The design consists of a double hinge system that enables you to open and rotate the phone a full 360 degrees, complete with a touch sensitive screen for a more user friendly experience. After all, touch sensitive displays seem to be the way to go these days, judging by the response that the iPhone as well as other smartphones like the HTC Touch are getting in the market.

Features includes mineral glass on the screen, an integrated fingerprint scanning device to keep your personal data safe, access to a concierge service, a 3.2 megapixel camera, an integrated MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity, EDGE support and the all the necessary multimedia functions. Too bad there is no 3G on the P9521, as that feature would’ve capped off a fine performance from Porsche’s maiden entry into the world of cellphones.

Add Extra ports

Most of your computing needs when using a Laptop are likely run into the issue of not having enough ports. Face it, no matter how nice your laptop is, they just can’t ever seem to pack in enough USB ports, audio jacks and external video connectors. Well, if you have an ExpressCard slot, then you might want to consider picking up this ExpressCard Docking Station from Targus.

The Dock is specially made for laptop, it’s still got a few of the essentials that you might not already have. This Dock features 4 USB ports, Gigabit Ethernet, a serial port, a variety of audio jacks, one DVI and one VGA port. The nice thing about it is that the video output supports resolutions up to 1,600 x 1,200. Unfortunately, they left out a few ports like FireWire and S-Video.

It requires an AC adapter to work. The good thing is that your USB ports will be powered, and thus will be able to recharge any gadgets you might have when your notebook isn’t on. The additional ports are going to set you back around $300. Honestly, for that kind of cash you’d be better off looking for a dock that is specifically made for your laptop.

Speaking Paper Strip

Wow! its is also a coolest thing that may come to existence very soon. Label that Talks, has come up with software that lets consumers print high-density bar codes on strips of paper that store recorded voice messages. Scan the paper with a cheap handheld scanner--or a cell phone with a built-in scanner--and it plays back a message. The strip of paper you see in the picture can hold about eight kilobits, enough for a ten-second voice message, said Ken Berkun, president and founder.
"We're trying to get it to twenty seconds," he said.
"I have a daughter and I have photo albums," Berkun said, explaining how he came up with the idea for the company. Another large potential market lies in pharmacies and hospitals, which would put labels on medicine bottles. Thus, Mick Jagger, via your plastic prescription vial, could sing "You go running to the shelter of your mother's little helper" every time you go for a Paxil.
Hewlett-Packard is working on similar device called Memory Spot which is a sticker that contains a NAND flash chip. Memory spot prototypes can contain 256 kilobits to 4 megabits of data, so you could store videos in them or additional pictures. Pictures and videos on Memory Spots could be beamed to a computer or cell phone via an integrated networking interface.

Microsoft Surface

As a Gadget Freak i am following a gadget that actually has inspired me in believing how technology can change peoples life. The Microsoft Surface was always like a concept to me until I came across a Video on Youtube, where Bill Gates is showing this Surface thing for real. Microsoft made me believe that we are entering very soon a world where digital based interaction is escaping computers and come to mobile devices and alternative wearables. All people around can check this surface out on Microsoft Official Webpage. And also check on these Youtube videos.

LG KU990 Viewty

The new LG’s KU990 is undeniably a slinky number in the world of mobiles phones. It’s a slim and good looking and doesn’t feel plastic. In simple terms this is a camera that you can ring people on as well as watch TV, browse the web and listen to music. Its has 66 mm touch pad screen which occupies most of the front making it look like a tiny plasma whilst on the reverse, a lens encircled by jog wheel used to control the zoom and navigate through menus and adjust volume, gives the familiar appearance of a camera!

Navigation is made straight forward and friendly by the large and sensible icon layout on the touch screen. Helpfully, you can also set the touchpad to vibrate when you touch it – confirming each selection. Although the icons and buttons on the touchpad are a good size, not having small fingers or long fingernails be a disadvantage, but if this is the case, the small extendable stylus on standby. The only slightly annoying thing is the storage of the stylus which dangles untidily from the top of the phone.
I found messaging slightly easier then on my usual phone – being able to swap swiftly from predictive text to alphabetical to numerical. There is also a clever little handwriting entry feature using the small extendable stylus, but disappointingly this led to errors in recognition and was slower than texting via the keypad. You can also text using a QWERTY keyboard if you wish.
The 5 megapixel camera is easy to access with dedicated camera buttons on the side which just as easily allows movie shooting and playback. As with many digital cameras there is an annoyingly long delay between button-press and shot resulting in missed moments when your subject moves – not great for taking pictures of children!
Viewing your pictures is almost as good as having your prints in your hand especially when using the landscape setting. Images can be viewed either as standard thumbnail or scattered around the screen which is quite snazzy. You can also zoom in and move your pictures around by brushing your finger over it which means you don’t miss any detail.
There is a comprehensive editing suite for images and video footage and the software included is easy to install and use which also allows you back up all you phones data. There is also a music player and FM radio.
The web browser is easy to use and allows you to see full web pages and then to zoom. You can even open up two windows at once and toggle between the two.
Battery life can be short if you find yourself playing with all the features – if using the camera on a day or night out, browsing the web and viewing images you will need your charger every couple of days.

Car Generates hydrogen

The Hydrogen Generating Car is definitely one interesting toy to have around this Christmas, and makes a great gift for whoever is interested in science.
This is the hydrogen-powered car that uses an on-board reversible Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) fuel cell to conduct the entire hydrogen-generating and electrolytic process. Considered to be the future of hydrogen power, PEM fuel cells require minimal warm-up time, produce virtually no heat, and have a high power-to-weight ratio, ensuring efficient use and less wear on system components. The car’s reversible fuel cell uses distilled water and an electrical charge from the included solar panel to perform a 10-minute electrolytic process. It measures 6″ x 3″ x 2″.
