3D printer from Thinglab

Well here is an amazing device, which can let you take print in 3D. This device can actually make your computer based 3D projects come to life. You can easily use this printer like any other inkjet printer as said by the Thinglab. It can print complex engineering projects, working concept models with upto 16 million colors and 700 dpi.

This is ideal for product design development, jewelry design, and architectural models. 3D printing is fast and cost effective as claimed by Thinglab. It does seem good if you are about to give a presentation then you can make a 3D model in just a few hours. One thing for sure, this device does not made for the home use, it is entirely for commercial and official works.

This device is available by the Thinglab and it costs around $40000. Therefore, it is definitely not for home use.
Here is a video explaining how it works.

Take 3D pictures with your digital camera

For all those who want to take 3D photos with their own camera here is a simple solution for them that is Loreo 3D Lens in a Cap. It can be mounted on Digital SLR camera, and once correctly mounted will be take 2 shots every time you click for something to produce 3D image. It splits the beam into two simultaneous shots. And you can view those shots through a conventional 3D viewer. And for technical experts it consists two F/11 lens with 38mm focal length, which can take from to 1 meter to infinity, Both lenses expose the camera’s CCD chip to the same image and they can get adusted automatically to produce the 3D effect, which can be viewed with a 3D viewer or on a PC monitor, and if you want to take the prints that is also possible. This lens is available for Canon EOS & FD, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax K mount, Minolta MD and AF, that makes it to work with all Sony A's models. Right now the price of this super cool Loreo 3D Lens in a cap is expected to be more or less around $100.

Khet 2 (new level of gaming)

I’m a big fan of Khet AKA the old Deflexion. The idea of reflecting lasers around a board game just seems cool to my geeky nature. This latest expansion pack takes the game to a whole new level, the Khet 3D Tower.

Khet now has a mezzanine level for even more zaptastic possibilities. When the laser is fired, it either stops on the edge of the board or zaps the non-reflective surface of a playing piece. If this happens, the piece is ‘destroyed’ and removed from play. Eliminate your opponent’s Pharaoh by successfully plotting the laser’s route and you win.

I reckon the 3D Tower will make an excellent game that little bit more challenging. Unfortunately the expansion pack is not available until 2008.

You can buy Khet from Amazon for $44.95 or Firebox for $34.95(which is where I found out about the 3D Tower Pack).
