Measure electricity by a clip

If you are like me, and your electricity bills also reaching skies, then here is some gadget, which we call as "Saverclip". It is a concept from the designer Lee Young Don that may prove useful to anyone who is looking to control there electricity or power consumption. This device look very similar to a clothespin and it actually latches onto any kind of power cable to determine the energy usage by just measuring the electromagnetic fields emitted. It can even recharge itself by the same electromagnetic field.

There is a LCD panel, which can help us to determine that what the devices are responsible for the most power wastage. The design is quite simple and looks friendly, which could be a useful gadget, if it may ever come to the reality.

USB 3.0 is about to come

Intel and other companies are forming a group to promote USB 3.0, this will be even 10 times faster than 2.0, which is already running at 480Mbps, but soon the USB 3.0 will be able to transfer the data at speed up to 4.8 Gbit/s. It will remain be compatible with USB 2.0, which was always compatible with 1.1 version.
Intel stated that the USB 3.0 would be optimized for low power and improved protocol efficiency. The USB 3.0 ports and cabling will be designed with both copper and optical cable capabilities, which means even more higher speed is ensured in future.
The USB 3.0 specification should be out soon with the products arriving in 2009 - 2010.

iriver's handwriting friendly e-book or tablet

Well iriver did not show this at the CES, but it is definitely a cool product. It looks like a combination of e-book and tablet PC with the capability to recognizing handwriting, and have a quite good color display. Well it seems really an interesting thing, because from the top it does not look like an e-book or a tablet, more like a normal notebook. Nowadays, iriver seems more like developing prototype or concept gadgets, and we never get to hear much about its last terminal e-book. Therefore, there is not enough information about this gadget but hope to hear about this more in the future.

RFID tags for concept clothes labels

A survey shows that 70% of people do not bother themselves reading labels on clothing. This in turn causes several problems with the clothing by damaging, color fading or merging, shrinking, etc, but with the RFID clothes tag concept you may never have to read the tags or bother yourself. With the help of a compatible washing machine, your RFID tagged clothes will automatically tell the machine how to clean it up, so you do not have to change washing machine settings. This concept idea also help you with your iron, dryer and presses, so that you never have to set the iron temperature, and the burning shirts will be the talk of classic movies.

I really do love this concept, just load you clothes in the washing machine, add detergent and just shut the lid. It may make us a little bit more careless but in return, it increases the cloths life.

ECOshot by SeaLife - camera works up to 75 feet underwater

EcoShot the new camera by SeaLife. It has a 6 mega pixel CMOS sensor which takes great looking pictures from up to six feet drop. Specially designed to use underwater up to the depth of 75 feet without housing, which is very good for the use of scuba divers who wants to take photos of underwater views. The camera enclosed in rubber, which provides better grip inside or outside the water and acts as a good shock absorber. In addition, the same rubber grip makes it waterproof.
It uses simple AA batteries, well that may prove to be hurting your pocket in the long run, as we all know AA batteries dies out very early. The camera also has a spy mode, which allows you to take pictures automatically over a defined interval; interval can be set to start from 5 seconds to 5 minutes. The only problem is with its storage, it has just 14 MB of internal memory and restricted to use only 1 GB SD card.
This camera is definitely over prices at $230, but still good for those who really want to take this underwater.

Iomega Zip Drive is back as Rev

Remember in 90's, there were Zip Drives considered cool, as they can hold a lot more data then normal floppy disks. Soon the CD-R comes in with huge storage facility and Zip is gone.
Now Iomega is taking Zip Drives back in market, but they going to call it Rev, it is a HDD split in half - the head and mechanisms are in the reader, and in each removable cartridge is just a platter, which holds 70GB.
These disks are quite well durable as the person at CES 2008 demo, constantly slamming it on the table showing they have proud on its durability. Therefore, you can easily carry them in either your pocket and in laptop carry bags, and that too without worrying about any damage.
There is no exact idea about its price and availability.
