A Green Project in Abu Dhabi - Masdar HQ

The latest green project named Masdar HQ in Abu Dhabi has big planning, and I really mean it. This is going to be the world's first positive energy building, which means it creates more energy than it may consume.

The worth of this project is expected to cost about $300 million, and it will be an impressive center piece for the Masdar City, which will be a $22 billion development stretching out the Abu Dhabi. This project is the vision for our greener future.

The roof pier will be the first thing to be hosted into the place, which will be all covered with solar panels that will generate enough energy for its own construction. The complete size of the structure will be about 1.3 million square feet.
Now this is what they call Intelligent Design.

Solar panels shaped like tiny leaves

It seems true that the future of technological innovations rest over nanotechnology, but these tiny GROW solar panels by SMIT are remarkable. SMIT has designed it as a clean energy product and GROW is the patent pending hybrid solar and wind device. Inspired by the shape of leaves, these all panels together can perform better than their biological counterparts can, it is a solar panel but also it can capture energy from the wind and the fluttering of these solar leaves generates power. GROW is a modular and lightweight system which can be attached to any kind of building surface.
SMIT said, "We are exploring possibilities of using a leasing/take-back system for GROW so that we as the producers are ultimately responsible for its end-life and recycling."

Charge your phone using Solar Energy

These days in Japan it is a new gadget by Strap-Ya, which seems to catching attention, it is a back up battery, which can get recharge by itself in to the sun in about 8 to 10 hours and can give your cell phone some extra breath for about 30 minutes. Well this may not seems like a good thing to charge a solar battery for 8 hours and use it for just 30 minutes, but practically it is a good concept to utilize solar energy, as almost everyone aware of the environmental changes are taking place, and about the global warming. You can use it as a key chain and keep it in a strap, which may be the best way to keep it on charging. You can also recharge it by just plugging it into the AC wall socket for three hours. This gadget soon be available in Japan in a week.

Efergy meter

If you have a lot of gadgets around in your home it would be quite difficult to track all the amount of energy that is going wasted. Thanks to Efergy's energy meter, it will let you know about all the energy that is in use around every corner of the house. This little gadget that is also supposed to clean out the noise on power lines and make it cleaner, thereby lowering down bills. Well, if you are not as crazy as me, then the energy meter Efergy will help you monitor your exact energy use in real time. It can directly get to plug in into your mains cable, and also features a wireless, standalone display helps you become more energy efficient, less wasteful and save money at the same time.

By having a visual display showing exactly how much electricity is in in use at any one time means it’s easier to turn off what is not essential, such as used gadgets plugged in even if they are fully charged, as well as switch off unnecessary lighting.
