Get a customized Cell Phone (including features)


This week two companies announced two different versions of customizable cell phone. Now, it is clear that its the starting of a new era, where you can custom your cell phone like we did to laptops and PC's.

Modu, a cell phone manufacturing company from Israel, announced a GSM handset that will be released this October. It will be a tiny phone which can be slide into a jacket, and jackets will be having extra functionality. For example, a user might use a jacket with a nice camera in it for personal use, and then replace that with a jacket to use a QWERTY keyboard for business use. You will also get software, which give instructions to phone about color schemes in addition to other features.

Another company is zzzPhone, which has announced build to order phones, and they claims that buying its phone will be like ordering a PC from Dell. Just use their website, and select the features you want to have and the company will build it. It's base model costs $149, and will provide a wide range of colors and features like 7 mega-pixel camera, TV tuner or DMB, or GPS, etc. all additional features will be charged extra.
